To mayor Dear Sir, I am writing with regard to the proposed plan to create an industrial fish farm on the coast of Poros. I was very upset and disturbed to hear this as Poros is my regular holiday destinations a few times a year, and I feel strongly that the beautiful island is a huge part of my life. I have been visiting the island for 20 of my 28 years which started as a family holiday, and a place I have now been to every year since. I have so many amazing memories of the island and to see it changed in a such a way would spoil the island and perish treasured memories. I don't live on the island or have a claim to it, but it has witnessed some life changing events forn me and it is a place of resta and comfort. Currently my mum has terminal cancer and the one thing that keeps her fighting is the hope to return for one last trip to say goodbye to place she called her home for 10 years. My mum is not well enough to convey her dissapointment at this new, but I can assure you, Poros is part of her life and a place where her dreams came true. When she passes away I have the assurance and comfort that at least she had the opportunity to follow her heart and live there until she could no longer due to her health (I am now her carer). I am sure you can understand why Poros is such an important part of my life. It is an untouched, unspoilt Gem, and yes it may not be a main tourist destination, but that is a part of it's charm, it isn't a spoilt by alcohol fuelled brits, litering the area and spoiling it for locals, it is a well respected community and a rare place of such beauty. Yours sincerely Gemma Kangley
