Unfortunately, my Greek is not good enough to understand the subject matter well enough. I can say however that the fees paid to notaries are very high as are the government charges such as stamp duty, add to that real estate agents fees and your talking about 15 - 20% of the land cost. OUCH Surely soilcitors are just as capable of performing conveyancing matters as are notaries...I watched one in action its not that difficult a task. I'm sure solicitors can be trained in the art quite easily. These closed shops need to be openned up as a matter of urgency. These changes will attract much needed foreign capital flow in to the country. Perhaps the Greek government can become a premium google earth member and obtain satelite images of the land thereby helping your decaying title offices, engineers and overpaid notaries with their heavy work loads. It doesnt cost that much guys. Competition will bring efficiencies and savings....remember. Keep it Going.
