This law MUST NOT be passed and this is very critical for the future of our children in this country. As a foreigner, having been raised in a country where this law has existed for 30 years +, I witnessed several children grow up in an unstable «yo yo» like life – going from one home to the other – and this had several effects on their psychology. The children never knew where home was. Please do think about Greek children, and do not apply foreign laws to this society. I hope you can understand that each country has very different beliefs on female/male responsibilities relating to parenting, and it is unfair to try to adopt this foreign approach to this country. I strongly believe that Greece is not ready to give a mandatory «parenting» role to the father, especially when the father can not support it (primarly because of how he is raised in Greece). Fathers will take advantage of this right, primarily to avoid paying child support, and will make even the simplest decision the most challenging and this all will create endless court actions and continuing negative psychology and mood for the family and child as a whole for several years.Shared parenting should ONLY BE VOLUNTARY, NOT FORCED. The fathers who are behind the wealthy organization «Energoi Babades» who has spent so much money paying for advertisements and pushing for this law have only thought about themselves. These fathers already have a decision in place, so, it is understood that if this law passes, they will all request their children’s circumstances to change, primarily to suit themselves, which as you can imagine will re-create the negative psychology in already established and “calm” households. No child should ever be forced into a situation where his/her parents have to work together when they could not even live together. Voluntary means the two adults can work together. Forced means they cannot work together. This law will only create more tension, and will also create «post abusive behavior» which comes right after a divorce in the first place. Perhaps you should also consider this foreign term be added into the law (not just parental alienation). POST ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR is real and it will become even bigger of a problem if this law passes. A BIG NO TO SHARED PARENTING in Greece.
