I have been closely following recent events in Greece and I strongly believe this legislation is counterproductive in meeting any meaningful economic and institutional goals. The shutting down of the National Institute of Labour and Human Resources, and the firing and permanent removal of its staff from the public administration is an act that does not contribute to the rationalization of the public administration, given the Institute’s critical role in fighting record-high unemployment and its highly experienced and qualified staff.
