The government own and runs television channels use space and allocated time on these to cover animal issues. Offer free time to animal organisations in the form of intermission advertising to promote adoption care and welfare of animals. Adults also need education on animal welfare and its importance especially those who don’t own animals would not go to seminars or events or training. Apart from informing the population on provisions relating to animal welfare there needs to be informative education to dispel myths and misinformation relating to cats and dogs. People need to understand that passed down fears concerning disease and superstitious wrapped around animals are not correct Laying down the requirements of Greek law without tackling these widely held misconceptions and misinformation will not change the situation. The provision of the factual situation via good clear educational programs will achieve greater and more effective responses and will serve to build on population support for animal welfare measures.
