For over 30 years Greek Animal Rescue Charity 802243 has worked tirelessly promoting Animal Welfare for Greek Animals as there has always been an apparent lack of empathy for the stray dogs. Our charities primary aim is to fund neutering programmes around Greece, especially the areas that get no help whatsoever from the Mayors and Ministry Vets. Last year alone our charity neutered 3,283 animals at a cost of £134,000.00 - all of which is donated by the public and tourists of Greece that see the dire condition that the government have created not only for the dogs and cats but for the tax paying residents of Greece that have existed their whole lives with this dreadful problem on their doorsteps. Tourism is of the utmost importance in Greece for everybody, tourists now know exactly what is going on in Greece and are demanding change. We want to see Greece taking control of the welfare of animals in a humane and positive way not exile them to areas of wilderness where it will be impossible to cater for their needs. Neutering programmes are essential, governments need to encourage their people to neuter all pets regardless of where they live or be responsible by way of a fine for abandonment of animals which contravenes the laws.
