SDG7 - clean energy what about electrifying public transport / freight / ferries / aviation, only talking about private subsidies etc simplification of RES: should not be done while burdening the environment and lack of public consultation / Must also be contextualised in Greece being indicted by the Commission for its weakening of NATURA protections Welcome the support of Municipalities in setting up energy communities to tackle energy poverty. We call on the Government to expand it with a wider national support programme for energy communities, especially those utilizing VNM. Energy communities are recognised in the report, but hitherto there have been no national support programs - financial or otherwise. No mention about ongoing support to fossil fuel exploration and extraction programs, or a possible phase out date No sectoral targets or quantitative data, especially regarding hard-to-decarbonize sectors like aviation, shipping, construction SDG 11 - sustainable cities no quantifiable targets on promotion of walking/cycling etc and how that relates to reduction of air quality no mechanisms for participatory and multi-stakeholder planning SDG 12 - consumption binding national quantitative target of resource reduction (eg 65% - 5 tonnes per capita by 2050) A sectoral monitoring of resource use (e.g., agri, transport, buildings, military) and specific road maps for resource reduction no emphasis on waste PREVENTION (zero waste) Producer responsibility is mentioned in the context of recycling of discarded products, but there’s no mention o mandating a % of recycled content, guaranteeing recyclability and repairability and banning planned obsolescence Also no discussion of (illegal and legal) export of waste to third countries No mention of sustainable diets / also of the use of food waste for biogas and fertiliser production Percentage reduction in fertiliser and pesticide usage / % target for organic land cultivation and land set aside for carbon sequestration and biodiversity protection (payments for ecosystem services) Globally, Resource extraction and processing account for more than 90% of global biodiversity loss and water stress impacts, and for approximately half of global climate change emissions. Greece should monitor how its consumption patterns are influencing the above The phase out of single use plastic from the public sector has not been efficiently enforced or monitored. Everyday experiences show widespread use of plastic, by employees, as well as in public procurement of events organised by public bodies.
