Καμία χρηματοδότηση αλλά θεσμοθετούμε την έρευνα;
We are alerting all registered users in Greece that your organization does not hold an active agreement for full-text access to articles on ScienceDirect published in 2010 and forward. The Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (HEAL-Link) and Elsevier secured agreement earlier this year. Unfortunately, in spite of the best efforts of both parties, we have experienced continued and repeated delays from the Greek Court of Assessors in signing and activating the HEAL-Link agreement. The agreed September 24 deadline to deliver signed documents to Elsevier has now passed.
It is therefore with great regret that, pending some action by the Ministry, we must now withdraw from HEAL-Link. The termination procedures were initiated as of the September 24th deadline and, as a consequence, researchers at your institution will lose full-text access to all articles on ScienceDirect published in 2010 and forward.
As a gesture of good will, in hopes of a timely reinstatement of access, Elsevier is keeping all HEAL-Link accounts active, allowing continued access to the backfiles on ScienceDirect through 2009. In addition, we are extending access to Scopus, the world's largest abstract and citation database. You may wish to lend your support by writing to the administration of your university, and urging them to request the Ministry to accept the agreement found between HEAL-Link and Elsevier. Until an institutional subscription is reinstated, individual access to 2010 articles are available by credit card payment.
We sincerely regret this situation, as does HEAL-Link. Our past relationship with HEAL-Link achieved the mission to help all academic and research institutions in Greece acquire and share digital resources and dramatically increase the country's scientific output. It is my sincere hope to ensure that Greece's researchers and scientists continue to have the access to Elsevier resources that will continue to enable them to advance their work and increase their productivity.
With sincere regards,
Claudio Colaiacomo
